Welcome to the Bay Area’s Cox Conserves Heroes Program

To help honor the Bay Area’s unsung environmental heroes and inspire neighborhood conservation, KTVU Channel 2 is proud to partner with The Trust for Public Land to present Cox Conserves Heroes.

Congratulations to Charlie Bowen for being selected as the Bay Area's 2012 Cox Conserves Hero. As her nonprofit of choice, the Berkeley Path Wanderers Association received $10,000.

The Bay Area finalists each received $2,500 for their nonprofits of choice:

About the Program:

Cox Conserves Heroes recognizes local environmental volunteers and makes donations to local nonprofits on their behalf.

The national program takes place in cities across the county. The public nominates volunteers using a brief online form. Next, a panel of local environmental leaders selects three finalists who are profiled on video. The public then watches the videos, gets inspired, and votes for their favorite.

It's our way of honoring the unsung heroes in our communities and supporting the organizations that matter to them.
